Bio & CV:

Gwen O’Neil (b. 1992, NY NY) lives and works in Los Angeles. She earned her BFA in Photography from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2015. O’Neil was recently featured in a group show at Bozo Mag Gallery in LA.

Focusing on light and color, O’Neil abstracts her surroundings to create ethereal imagery. She draws inspiration from the natural world, specifically the landscapes of California, Long Island and England. The winding roads that weave through the hills and canyons of LA, the dramatic seaside cliffs in Cornwall, and the starling murmurations along the shores of East Hampton, can all be seen in her large scale canvases. These paintings emulate Neo-Impressionism in its most abstract form by way of layering vivid colors, creating a sense of rhythm and allusion. “I am drawn to the beauty of the natural world but also scared for the loss of it”.

Gwen has exhibited her work in galleries in New York, Los Angeles, and Martha’s Vineyard.
